Do you have a large cavity that has been ignored for a long time? Leaving cavities untreated for long can make them grow bigger and deeper. Restoring them with dental fillings made from ceramic or composite resin is not recommended, as this can make the tooth weak. Hence, we suggest dental inlays to restore large cavities. On the other hand, onlays are widely used to restore severely worn out or deformed teeth. They restore only the upper half of the biting surface of a tooth and are bonded in place using dental adhesives.
When you visit our dental practice for the initial consultation, we will thoroughly diagnose you and understand the severity of the condition. This helps us determine your candidacy for the restorations. Scans and x-rays of the teeth will be taken to serve as a reference for fabricating them in a dental laboratory.
We use dental-grade ceramic to fabricate our restorations, which will be made within a few days. During the next visit, the teeth will be cleaned, etched using an etching solution, and the restoration will be placed on it to check for fit and comfort. Once its contour is confirmed, it will be bonded to the tooth permanently using dental adhesives. It may be polished to enhance its appearance.
Please do reach out to us on call or by scheduling an online consultation with our dental professionals, and we’ll be glad to assist you further.
